1) Let me know if you used any of the tools in your classes. If so, how did it go? What did the students think? What did you think?
2) If you are not going to implement any of these tools soon, why? What is holding you back? be honest please!
3) If you are in the planning stages, please share with us what you plan do do with these tools.
I am planning to use my blog as a communication tool to keep parents informed of things going on in our classroom. Hopefully the students will enjoy posting our learning. Also, I had a teacher request a "pen pal" situation on my blog. I guess that would more aptly be named a "blog pal", huh?
ReplyDeleteI like blog pal...nice idea. Let me know how that works.
ReplyDeleteI plan to use Ning as a way for parents, students, and I to connect. I'll use Google Docs as a way for students to collaborate on a few projects next year also. I've already created a wiki for the beginning teachers at our school as a tool for collaborating and introducing that kind of technology to them.
ReplyDeleteI plan to set up a blog for my classes and use as a way to communicate with parents. I teach K-1 reading and do not have the same students all day. It was wonderful to find a way to convert and save educational vidoes from You Tube to use in class as well. I am interested in learning even more about all the tools discussed. I hope to incorporate them as I expore and feel more comfortable with each one. Thanks for all the great information!
ReplyDeleteI love the Ning and blogging ideas. Please send me URLs when you get them up!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comments folks. I will send along your names to UNCW for the credit. Some of you only gave initials in your comment but hopefully I can sort out who is who from looking at the list! If you do not get your ECU, let me know
ReplyDeletePeggy Bruyere's First Grade is planning on following Alysia Baysdens class! We also are using it as a tool to keep parents informed.
ReplyDeleteThank you everyone for your comments. A big kudos for trying new things and being willing to embrace some of these new technologies. If you ever need any advice or want a longer workshop, please let me know. I will make sure those who posted get the CEUs. Best of luck!
